Admission requirements - English Proficiency

During your studies in the MBA program, English will be the working language for all the teaching materials, readings, assignments, and classes. The requirement for admission into the Program is English proficiency equivalent to:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System): score band 6,5
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language):
    80 - internet-based
    213 - computer-based
    550 - paper-based

English test through the MBA office

Applicants who do not have official TOEFL or IELTS scores are required to take an online Accuplacer ESL test through the MBA office.

  • Minimum scores for Accuplacer ESL are: 101 (reading), 5 (writing).
  • The exam is performed online and it takes between 2-3 hours to get through all the assignments: reading skills quiz and writing an essay.
  • There is no time limit.
  • Results are available immediately.
  • In an unlikely case of the score not reaching the threshold, a candidate can retake the exam not earlier than in 2 weeks.

In order to take the Accuplacer exam you need to:
- make an appointment with the MBA office; contact as via phone or e-mail
- pay a tuition fee of 15 O.R. in the MCBS financial department.

You can download information on the Accuplacer test with sample questions which will help you to better prepare to achieve a good score.

A solution for candidates who do not have enough proficiency in English.

If you are not proficient enough in the English language to qualify for the MBA program admission, you can choose to enroll first into the English Foundation Program at MCBS. Among the present MBA program participants are those who took this path and have become successful students after they achieved the required level of English. Depending on your level in English, you will need one semester or longer to prepare for the Accuplacer test.
